Mount set to miss Man Utd’s Dublin game with Leeds

BBC Sport · 3 hours ago

Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount is expected to miss Wednesday's pre-season friendly against Leeds at Croke Park in Dublin after picking up a foot injury. He was substituted early in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Paris St-Germain in Gothenburg, and although head coach Michael Carrick described the withdrawal as precautionary, Mount has not trained since and remains a doubt.

Mount had impressed in United's earlier pre-season matches playing as a number eight alongside new signing Andrey Santos, making his potential absence notable. It is also unclear whether he will be fit for the final pre-season fixture against AC Milan in Wroclaw on Saturday. Elsewhere in United's camp, defender Lisandro Martinez has resumed training following a World Cup final injury, while Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo have also trained this week, though their readiness to face Leeds is uncertain. The Dublin match will mark the first time two English football clubs have played at the historic Gaelic Athletic Association venue.
