EDM producer Max “H4RRIS” Harris is publicly challenging musicians he believes are presenting AI-generated tracks as human-made work. He argues that generative music undermines artistic expression, obscures how genuine electronic music is made and may enable creators to profit from work derived from human artists.

Harris says his own production involves hundreds of deliberate creative choices using software, controllers and synthesisers, which he sees as central to authorship. He claims AI-made songs can often be identified by similar vocals and a sharp hissing sound, and cites tracks by MANSA, Danny and Ian Asher as suspected examples; none of those artists has publicly confirmed using generative tools.
