My Chemical Romance’s ‘The Black Parade’ Tops UK Albums Chart
My Chemical Romance’s *The Black Parade* has reached No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart, 20 years after its release, according to the Official Charts Company. The achievement follows a comprehensive anniversary reissue and marks the first time one of the band’s albums has topped the UK chart.
When it first came out in 2006, *The Black Parade* peaked at No. 2, behind Robbie Williams’ *Rudebox*. The reissue saw it beat releases by Fontaines D.C., Olivia Rodrigo and Amy Winehouse; the band’s *Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge* previously reached No. 9, while *Danger Days* reached No. 2 after a reissue in July.
In short
- *The Black Parade* reaches No. 1 in the UK, 20 years after release.
- Its 2006 debut peaked at No. 2 behind Robbie Williams.
- The anniversary collection helped deliver My Chemical Romance’s first UK chart-topper.
