A 30-year-old punk fan, David Granado Jr, died from a brain injury sustained while moshing at a Vans Warped Tour concert in California, leaving his family seeking answers as police say there is no evidence of foul play. He was with his girlfriend, brother and friends when he was fatally injured after jumping into a mosh pit, prompting an emergency hospital dash and surgery before he was placed on life support.

Granado Jr suffered the traumatic brain injury during the festival on the afternoon of Sunday 26 July, underwent emergency surgery in the early hours of the following Monday, and remained on life support for several days. His mother, Barbara Granado, said he was pronounced dead on Thursday at 2.10pm, with footage showing him caught up in the mosh pit before the incident. A GoFundMe has been set up to support the family as the exact cause of his fatal injury remains unclear.
