NCIS is a long-running American crime drama about special agents investigating serious crimes, often linked to the US Navy and Marine Corps. Leroy Gibbs is a veteran agent whose earlier years are the focus of NCIS: Origins, while Tony DiNozzo is a former colleague from the original series.
NCIS: Origins began in 2024 and follows a younger Gibbs, played by Austin Stowell; Mark Harmon narrates the story and also plays Gibbs in the present day. Michael Weatherly plays DiNozzo, who has since become director of NCIS. Their characters’ shared history connects the two series and gives the reunion its context.
