Leicestershire father and son critically injured in midnight stabbing raid
A father and his 15-year-old son were stabbed during an unprovoked midnight break-in at their Leicestershire home on Thursday. Two masked intruders forced entry around 12:30am and seriously wounded both victims; the boy's mother sustained minor injuries whilst three other children in the house remained unharmed. The violent attack has left the community deeply concerned, with neighbours describing being woken by terrifying screams and witnessing the attackers fleeing the property.
Both the teenage boy and his father, a man in his 50s, remain in critical condition in hospital following the assault, whilst the mother has been discharged. Armed police responded quickly but the masked attackers had already fled the area before officers arrived, leaving forensic investigators to gather evidence from the scene. Detectives are appealing for community information—including dashcam and CCTV footage from between 11pm Wednesday and early Thursday—as they seek to understand the motive behind what they describe as a 'completely unprovoked' attack.
