Neon Will Distribute ‘NAZA,’ Providing a Major Boost and Seal of Approval
Neon has taken over U.S. distribution of *NAZA*, a documentary by Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor about Israeli soldiers’ accounts of the war in Gaza. The deal brings the film publicity, cinema bookings and funding, giving its independent release a significant boost and helping it reach wider audiences.
The film has earned nearly $900,000 in North American cinemas in less than two weeks, alongside more than $6.5 million overseas. It features anonymous interviews with about two dozen Israeli military personnel; the Israeli military has criticised it as distorted and misleading. Its North American takings are ahead of the early pace of the filmmakers’ previous film, *No Other Land*.
