Netflix’s Next Harlan Coben Thriller Series Could Become Its Biggest Franchise Yet

Collider · 6 hours ago

Netflix is developing a new adaptation of Harlan Coben's Myron Bolitar novels, betting on the streamer's continued strength in the thriller genre to help offset its recent viewership decline. The move follows the success of Coben's I Will Find You, which is nearing a spot among Netflix's ten most-watched shows ever, prompting the streamer to turn to his longest-running book series for its next project.

The Myron Bolitar series began with Deal Breaker in 1995 and now spans twelve novels, the most recent being Think Twice in 2024, alongside a YA spin-off, Shelter, and a standalone book, Win. The books follow a former basketball star turned sports agent who is repeatedly drawn into dangerous conspiracies involving blackmail and murder, often aided by his friend Win Lockwood. With a large back catalogue of source material and a format similar to Coben hits such as Fool Me Once and Run Away, producer David E. Kelley is attached to the project, which Netflix hopes could become a flagship franchise.
