The series debuted in 2023, with season 2 released in March 2026 and season 3 planned for 2027; filming for season 3 wrapped on 30 June 2026. Season 3 is expected to follow Luffy and his crew as they help Vivi and the kingdom of Alabasta, while season 4 could adapt the manga’s Jaya storyline if that arc is covered next.

One Piece began as a Japanese manga by Eiichiro Oda and follows Monkey D. Luffy and his crew as they travel the seas in search of a legendary treasure. Netflix’s live-action version adapts that story with actors, and its seasons draw on different sections of the long-running manga.

Luffy’s crew includes Roronoa Zoro, Nami, Usopp and Sanji, each with their own skills and goals. Vivi is a princess from the desert kingdom of Alabasta, whose troubles bring the crew into the kingdom’s conflict.

The Jaya storyline is a later part of the manga’s journey, following the Alabasta events. How much of the story the series adapts matters to viewers following the crew’s progress and to those curious about how quickly Netflix may continue the adaptation.
