Niemann wins as Rahm secures LIV season title
Joaquin Niemann won the LIV Golf New York event, extending his tournament victory tally to nine and stretching his lead as the competition's most successful individual player. The result mattered most, however, for Jon Rahm, who secured his third consecutive LIV Golf season title despite finishing well down the leaderboard, cementing his status as the tour's dominant player over multiple seasons.
Niemann carded a closing 69 at Trump National Bedminster to finish on 16 under par, winning by three shots from American Harold Varner III, with England's Lee Westwood and Zimbabwe's Scott Vincent sharing third. Rahm, who ended the week tied for 41st after a final-round 76, held an unassailable 219-point lead over Bryson DeChambeau in the season standings, having won twice in 2026 (in Hong Kong and Mexico) plus four runner-up finishes. The LIV individual season concludes at Indianapolis in a fortnight, with the team championship following in Michigan from 27-30 August.
