Nintendo will release two previously cancelled Virtual Boy games, D-Hopper and Zero Racers, through Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack on 4 August. The move is notable because both games were abandoned in 1996 after the commercial failure of Nintendo’s Virtual Boy, allowing players to experience them officially for the first time.

D-Hopper, developed by Intelligent Systems, is a fantasy action-adventure in which a prince rescues allies and confronts a corrupt politician. Zero Racers is an F-Zero-style racing game with Grand Prix and Practice modes; Nintendo also announced that Virtual Boy soundtracks are now available on Nintendo Music.
