Sheffield Wednesday manager Henrik Pedersen said he is still unsure of Jordi Liongola’s best position after the new signing made an impressive debut. The performance has nevertheless underlined Liongola’s versatility and given Wednesday another potentially valuable option as they prepare for the League One season.
The 26-year-old Burundi international joined from Belgian top-flight club RAAL La Louvière on a three-year contract for an undisclosed fee. Primarily an attacking full-back or wing-back, he made 31 league appearances last season, scoring twice and providing six assists.
