BAFTA has announced that veteran British producer Duncan Kenworthy will receive its highest honour, the BAFTA Fellowship, at a special presentation on Friday 23 October. The award recognises his outstanding contribution to film over more than five decades, particularly his role in shaping the British romantic comedy through hit films such as Four Weddings and a Funeral, Notting Hill and Love Actually, as well as his efforts to nurture emerging screen talent.

Kenworthy's career spans work with director Richard Curtis, co-founding the production company DNA with Andrew Macdonald (Trainspotting, 28 Days Later), and television credits including Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock and Gulliver's Travels through his long association with Jim Henson. He has also held senior roles at BAFTA itself, serving on its film committee, as chair from 2004 to 2006 and as vice-president from 2009 to 2015, and has a room at BAFTA's London headquarters named after him. Curtis will host the ceremony, supported by Peugeot, with Kenworthy joining past Fellows such as Steven Spielberg, Judi Dench and Martin Scorsese.
