Nvidia’s latest GPU driver brings a new way to speed up PC games
Nvidia’s latest GPU driver, version 621.01, adds support for Microsoft’s Advanced Shader Delivery, which is designed to make supported PC games launch faster and run more smoothly. The technology aims to prevent pauses and stuttering by preparing game shaders before play, rather than compiling them on the PC as needed.
Microsoft’s cloud service precompiles shaders for many hardware and driver combinations, using data supplied by game developers. Gears of War: E-Day and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 support it through the Xbox PC app; the benefit can also apply to Steam copies if that app is installed. AMD GPUs need Adrenalin 26.6.1 or later, while Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 systems need driver version 2026.08.3 or later.

- Supported games should launch faster and stutter less.
- The Xbox PC app is required, including for Steam copies.
