Over the Hill, SnowRunner’s hippie off-roading cousin from the Art of Rally devs, gets an October release date
Over the Hill, the off-roading adventure game from Funselektor (Art of Rally, Absolute Drift) and Strelka Games, has been given a release date of 14 October on Steam. Billed as a more relaxed cousin to hardcore trucking sim SnowRunner, the game pairs chilled exploration with mechanics that can still punish careless drivers, such as flooded rivers or badly angled crashes leaving vehicles stuck.
Players can drive solo or in co-op with up to three friends across open wilderness maps, exploring, spotting wildlife, finding cabins to stay in, upgrading their customisable vehicle, and tackling off-road trails that test driving and winching skills. The game follows a Steam Next Fest demo in June that drew a positive response, and its October launch places it shortly after Star Wars: Galactic Racer and around the same time as Valor Mortis, though the article notes the games have little else in common.
