The Black List and Athens Film Office have opened submissions for the 2027 Owl Screenwriting Workshop, an intensive residential programme in Athens for early-career writers with professional credits. The initiative aims to help writers develop feature-film and television projects for international audiences by connecting them with producers, executives and other industry decision-makers.

The workshop will run from 12 to 15 January 2027 and will select up to 10 writers for mentoring, individual script feedback, masterclasses, panels and networking. Applications, submitted through the Black List website by 2 October, require a feature or television credit and an English-language script or translation; up to 40 projects will reach a longlist, assessed on originality, writing quality, market potential and the writer’s track record.
