Pair convicted of Shipley murder called police the next morning

Daily Mail ·

Zbigniew Chlebek and Beata Walczak have been convicted of murdering Jaroslav Daniszewski in a sustained attack in Shipley, West Yorkshire. The case drew attention to the couple’s failure to seek help after the assault: they called police the next morning and claimed to have found him dead.

Prosecutors said Daniszewski, 43, died on the evening of 20 April 2026, about a day and a half before the call. Police found him with severe head and face injuries, along with a broken, blood-stained iron. Walczak was seen leaving the premises the following morning in blood-stained clothes; both defendants were found guilty at Bradford Crown Court on 28 October.
