Paralives’ latest update throws out its wonderfully awful homunculi babies and makes it so that dead bodies should no longer litter the streets

Rock Paper Shotgun · 3 hours ago

Life simulation game Paralives has received a new early access update that reworks the appearance of its in-game babies, following player complaints that they looked unsettling. The changes reflect the responsiveness possible during early access development, where developer feedback can lead to relatively quick adjustments, though the update also brings a wider range of gameplay refinements beyond the babies themselves.

Babies will now be born directly into a Para's arms rather than appearing on the pavement, and numerous relationship interactions have been added, including hugs between friends and family, the option for close friends to move in together, and the ability to assign a side of the bed to each Para. The game's town, Melino, now has named streets and addresses, with townies also appearing on the map, while average Para lifespans have risen from 98 to 112 days. New floor textures, the addition of Dorfromantik as a playable in-game game, and a fix ensuring dead Paras no longer lie in the street for days are also included.

  • Paralives update redesigns babies to look more realistic
  • Adds relationship features like hugs and cohabitation
  • Fixes bug where dead bodies lingered in streets
