Gavi told El Partidazo de COPE that a red card during the match would have been the "most logical" response but argued football has a physical, aggressive side and suspension was unwarranted. Fifa's system briefly and incorrectly showed Paredes had been sent off, before confirming no disciplinary action was taken during the game itself; Argentina's Enzo Fernandez was dismissed in the final for a second yellow card.
