Parents distraught after losing all three of their children in SUV fireball crash

Three siblings, Dalvena Green, Jakara and Charles Milton Jr, died when their Chevrolet SUV crashed into a roadside assistance truck on Florida’s Turnpike on Friday night and caught fire. Their parents say the loss has devastated them and have urged investigators to establish what happened before drawing conclusions about blame.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the SUV struck the truck’s right rear while it was parked on the shoulder to assist a disabled vehicle, sending both vehicles off the road. A witness alleged the SUV was speeding and had no headlights on, but it is not known who was driving; police are examining vehicle data, and a report is expected in about 10 days. The siblings were travelling with their partners and a friend to Universal Orlando, and one sibling’s young daughter survived.
