Nino Corvato, tailor to the late Luciano Pavarotti and other high-profile clients, is suing the developers and managers of his luxury Kensington apartment building for more than £550,000 after claiming faulty wine fridges ruined his collection of French wines worth around £1 million. He alleges the built-in cooling units leaked and malfunctioned, allowing damp and mould to develop and damage bottles he had stored as an investment and for personal enjoyment.

Corvato claims he repeatedly flagged problems with the fridges to the building's managers but that the defects were not properly fixed, ultimately ruining much of his collection. The case, brought in London, centres on allegations of negligence and breach of contract against those responsible for maintaining the property, with Corvato seeking substantial damages to cover the value of the spoiled wine and associated losses.
