NBCUniversal to fold Peacock into YouTube Premium bundle from 2027

NBCUniversal and Google's YouTube have confirmed a new multiyear agreement placing Peacock Premium, the ad-supported tier, inside a new YouTube Premium bundle in the US from early 2027, which NBCUniversal calls Peacock's largest wholesale distribution deal to date. The move comes as Peacock posted its first-ever quarterly profit in Q2 2026, with paid subscribers reaching 48 million after adding 2 million in the quarter, giving NBCUniversal fresh momentum to push the streamer to "millions" of YouTube Premium subscribers. Pricing for the combined bundle has not been announced, and YouTube has confirmed the standalone $15.99 monthly price of YouTube Premium will not change once Peacock content is added.

The broader deal extends beyond bundling: it renews NBCUniversal's YouTube TV carriage agreement (last renewed October 2025), expands Universal+ and Hayu internationally through YouTube Premium, and makes NBC Sports a production partner for select live sporting events, some of which will stream free on NBC Sports' YouTube channel. Separately, Peacock Premium ($10.99/month) will become available as an add-on via YouTube Primetime Channels later this summer, joining Peacock Premium Plus ($16.99/month with limited ads), which has been offered there since late June. The companies also plan to deepen advertising technology collaboration, including through FreeWheel.
