Dave Krusen, Pearl Jam's original drummer, has broken down his drum part on the band's classic track "Even Flow" in a new video for online lesson platform Drumeo. Krusen played on the band's landmark 1991 debut album Ten before departing the same year following struggles with alcoholism, and the session offers a rare technical insight into his contribution to one of the album's best-known songs.

In the video, Krusen explains that his drumming on "Even Flow" was built around following the bass, rhythm guitar and vocal dynamics rather than driving the song itself, citing Steve Jordan's playing on Keith Richards' solo album Expensive Winos as an influence. The appearance comes as Pearl Jam prepare to unveil a new drummer to replace Matt Cameron, who left last year after 27 years with the band; the reveal is expected during their headline set at Eddie Vedder's Ohana Festival, running from 25 to 27 September.
