Person dies at polling station in quaint Democrat stronghold town as midterm voters cast their ballots
A man was found dead in a car outside the Killingly Public Schools administration building in Connecticut on Tuesday morning, less than an hour before it opened as a polling station for the midterm elections. Officials said the death was unrelated to the election, reported no suspicious circumstances and confirmed that voting would continue as planned.
Police were called at 5.17am after the man was found unresponsive; his identity, age and cause of death have not been released. Killingly has around 18,000 residents and tends to vote Republican, although Connecticut is generally a Democratic stronghold. Voters were choosing a governor and state legislators, as well as members of Congress in races that could affect control of the House and Senate.
