Phantom Blade Zero is Steam’s biggest launch of the year so far, selling over 4 million copies in three days
Developing story first seen 4 hours ago
S-Game says its debut action game, Phantom Blade Zero, sold more than four million copies in its first 72 hours. The strong opening makes it Steam’s biggest launch of the year so far, though the total includes sales across PlayStation 5, Steam and China’s WeGame PC launcher.
The game reached a peak of 833,921 concurrent players on Steam, after launching with more than 431,000. Its sales figure has no platform breakdown, and it has not yet matched Black Myth: Wukong, which peaked at 2,415,714 concurrent players and is estimated to have sold 30 million copies. A pre-launch analyst estimate put Phantom Blade Zero above one million sales.

Explained simply
Phantom Blade Zero is an action game made by S-Game, a Chinese studio making its first game. It is available on PlayStation 5 and PC, including through Steam and China’s WeGame launcher.
Steam is one of the world’s largest PC game shops, and “concurrent players” means the number of people playing at the same time. Sales across all platforms and players on Steam are different measures, so a game’s total sales cannot be read directly from its Steam player count.
The comparison with Black Myth: Wukong gives a sense of scale: that Chinese action game became a major global hit, with a far higher reported peak of simultaneous players. Phantom Blade Zero’s performance matters as a sign of the audience for games from Chinese studios, but its sales figures alone do not show how many copies were bought on each platform.
