Pierce Brosnan has dismissed reports of a serious rift between Tom Hardy and the producers of Mobland, calling the speculation a "storm in a teacup." Earlier reports had claimed Hardy repeatedly clashed with producers Jez Butterworth and David Glasser over creative direction, with suggestions Butterworth had even threatened to quit the show, but a subsequent meeting between the parties reportedly smoothed things over, and Hardy is set to remain in the series.

Speaking on the red carpet ahead of the season two premiere, Brosnan praised Hardy as a "rock solid" colleague and expressed admiration for his work, while Hardy in turn spoke warmly of Brosnan and co-star Helen Mirren as actors he looks up to. Mirren has separately voiced strong public support for Hardy, describing him as "the most amazing actor" with "the kindest heart." Mobland's second season, in which Hardy plays fixer Harry De Souza alongside Brosnan and Mirren's crime-family leaders, premieres on Paramount+ on 18 September.
