Pierce Brosnan's 2023 crime thriller Fast Charlie has unexpectedly become one of the ten most-streamed films on Netflix worldwide, three years after its premiere. The mob-centred actioner casts the former James Bond actor as a hitman, blending elements of his 007 legacy with his more recent role in the Paramount+ series MobLand, and comes at a moment of renewed public interest in the Bond franchise as Amazon works out who will next play the iconic spy.

The film, based on Victor Gischler's novel Gun Monkeys and directed by Phillip Noyce (The Giver), first screened at the 2023 Mill Valley Film Festival before finding a much wider audience via streaming. Its resurgence coincides with Amazon's ongoing, "methodical" search for a new Bond following its $1 billion acquisition of the franchise, with producer Amy Pascal suggesting a decision could come by the end of 2026 and Callum Turner currently tipped as the frontrunner; casting director Nina Gold has said the studio wants someone who "oozes sex appeal" and is young enough to hold the role long-term.
