Ree Drummond, the American television personality known as the "Pioneer Woman," faces a family crisis following the arrest of her foster son, Jamar Goff, 23, on 15 September at the University of Alabama Birmingham. Goff has been charged with drug possession, second-degree assault on a police officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, and attempting to elude police. He is being held at Jefferson County Jail in Birmingham on a $35,000 bond.

According to court documents, officers discovered Goff sleeping shirtless on a campus bench after responding to a report of a suspicious person. When questioned, he allegedly stated he was waiting for someone to sell him methamphetamine. After officers learned he had an outstanding warrant and attempted to arrest him, Goff fled and allegedly struck an officer with an open palm. A subsequent search revealed a glass pipe in his backpack and 1.8 grams of methamphetamine on his person. Drummond publicly revealed she was fostering Goff in November 2020, noting he had been living with her family for approximately eighteen months and had become an integral part of their household.
