‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ Secret Cinema Immersive Stage Show Casts George Maguire as Jack Sparrow, Extends London Run

Variety ·

Secret Cinema and TodayTix have cast Olivier Award winner George Maguire as Jack Sparrow in a new immersive stage production of “Pirates of the Caribbean” in London. The show will open at a new riverside venue on the Greenwich Peninsula, marking the site’s first production and Secret Cinema’s planned permanent home there.

Previews start on 16 February and the show opens on 10 March; strong demand has extended its run by six weeks. Rather than screening the whole of “The Curse of the Black Pearl”, the two-hour experience combines selected film clips with live storytelling, large sets, stunts and a band, while audiences can explore and take part. Phil Daniels plays Barbossa, with Lily Blunsom as Elizabeth Swann and Harrison Wilde as Will Turner.
