Goalhanger, the British podcasting company behind hit shows such as "The Rest Is History" and "The Rest Is Football," has hired Tom Miceli from talent agency WME to lead its expansion into television and film. Miceli takes on the newly created role of head of IP development, reporting directly to the company's founders, as Goalhanger seeks to build on the recent success of its Netflix crossover and turn more of its audio content into screen projects.

In his new position, Miceli will oversee IP development and licensing strategy, working with talent, editorial teams and general managers to prioritise which shows to develop and to negotiate licensing, co-production and format-sale deals. He spent over a decade at WME's TV division, most recently leading the agency's work on Goalhanger's Netflix partnership that brought "The Rest Is Football" to the streamer for the World Cup and the upcoming Premier League season. The appointment comes as Goalhanger enjoys rapid growth, having been named Britain's fastest-growing private company in The Sunday Times 100, and ahead of its first three-day live event, Goalhanger: The Rest Is Fest, in London this September.
