Pokémon Developer Game Freak Promises Fixes ‘Within a Week’ To Its Big Budget RPG Beast of Reincarnation, Following Mixed Response at Launch

IGN · 3 hours ago

Game Freak, the studio best known for developing the Pokémon series, has pledged a series of prompt fixes for its new action RPG Beast of Reincarnation after the game received a mixed response from players and critics following its launch. The title, released for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, marks the developer's most ambitious project outside its flagship franchise, but early feedback suggests it has fallen short of expectations in several key areas.

The game currently holds a "Mixed" user rating on Steam from over 1,600 reviews, while IGN's own review awarded it 6/10, citing a clichéd story, repetitive combat and underwhelming boss fights. In a social media statement, Game Freak thanked players for their feedback and outlined a patch expected within a week that will include camera adjustments, larger text size, story pacing improvements, general bug fixes, and a switch to prioritise the Performance graphics setting over the more demanding Cinematic mode. The camera changes address a particularly common complaint, with PC players already having created an unofficial mod to adjust the field of view in the meantime.
