Pokémon Pokopia’s Bubbly Basin DLC and underwater-themed free update is coming as soon as next week

Eurogamer · 4 hours ago

Nintendo appears to have briefly and prematurely published a trailer confirming that Pokémon Pokopia's first paid DLC, Bubbly Basin, along with a free accompanying update, will launch on 5th August. The clip, spotted by gaming outlets and fans on the game's subreddit, was taken private shortly after going up, suggesting an early upload rather than an official announcement, so the date should still be treated as unconfirmed until Nintendo formally confirms it.

The free update introduces underwater exploration and building, letting players construct in areas previously submerged, while Bubbly Basin adds new content including Asian temple-style building kits and several water-type Pokémon such as Mudkip, Crawdaunt, Staryu, Starmie and Sharpedo. It forms the first part of a previously announced expansion pass, with a second DLC focused on accessories due in late 2026 and a further new town planned for 2027. A full seven-minute trailer has since been released, laying out the new mechanics in more detail ahead of an expected official announcement.
