Pokémon Pokopia’s second expansion announced for December
Pokémon Pokopia’s second paid expansion, Dazzling Decorations, will launch on 9 December, adding new Pokémon, items and accessories. The announcement also confirms a third expansion is planned for 2027, extending support for the successful Switch 2 game.
Screenshots suggest Dazzling Decorations focuses on cosmetic choices for players and befriended Pokémon, while the expansion will also open new towns to explore. Nintendo has not said how many Pokémon it will add; the previous expansion, Bubbly Basin, introduced 50. A free version 3.0.0 update is expected on the same day, and Pokopia had sold five million copies in five months.
In short
- Dazzling Decorations arrives on 9 December.
- The paid expansion adds cosmetics, Pokémon and new towns.
- A third expansion is planned for 2027.
Explained simply
Pokémon Pokopia is a game for Nintendo’s Switch 2 in which players explore a world and befriend Pokémon. Pokémon is a long-running series of games and other entertainment built around creatures that people meet, collect and care for.
Paid expansions add new content to a game after its release, while free updates can bring changes to all players. Pokopia’s earlier expansion, Bubbly Basin, added 50 Pokémon, and the game had sold five million copies in its first five months.
The planned releases show that Nintendo intends to keep adding content to Pokopia. This matters to players deciding whether to buy the game or an expansion, and to those who want to know how long the game may continue to grow.
