Pokémon Unite is shutting down

Engadget ·

Pokémon Unite will shut down on 23 March 2027, ending the free-to-play multiplayer game’s run after nearly six years. The closure follows its exclusion from the 2027 Pokémon World Championships, though a separate tournament in Tokyo is still planned.

The game launched on Nintendo Switch in July 2021 and later came to mobile, with cross-platform play. Gem sales and new Unite Club memberships have stopped, while existing members retain perks until their membership expires. A final update on 12 November will add a farewell event and a Library for viewing some items after shutdown; players must log in beforehand to save its data to their device.
