Amazon MGM Studios has formally greenlit Stillwater, a horror drama series for Prime Video from Greg Berlanti and Carly Wray, based on the Skybound graphic novel by Chip Zdarsky and Ramón K Pérez. The announcement, made ahead of Comic-Con, follows a bidding war for the project in spring 2025 and marks a significant new horror offering for the streamer, coming from Warner Bros. Television, Berlanti Productions and Skybound Entertainment, the studio behind The Walking Dead.

The eight-episode series follows ex-convict Daniel West, who receives a mysterious letter promising answers about his past and a large inheritance in the small town of Stillwater, only to find a community where no one ages or dies and nobody ever leaves. Berlanti and Wray, both under overall deals at Warner Bros. Television, co-wrote the project, which was greenlit after a year of development following delivery of a pilot script and season bible. It is the second series order this week for Berlanti Productions and WBTV, after Disney+ picked up Afterlife With Archie, alongside other projects including Scooby-Doo! at Netflix and the final season of All American on the CW.
