Quake Champions takes a shower, shedding all its 2017 live-service grime and becoming a $10 game
Quake Champions has moved from a free-to-play live-service model to a one-off paid game on Steam, priced at $10. The change removes the game’s battle passes and microtransactions, simplifying access to its arena-shooter gameplay and allowing the title to continue operating without its previous service-based monetisation.
Players who have previously played Quake Champions on Steam receive the paid version at no extra cost, while new players must buy it. The September 2026 update also preserves existing progression and cosmetics, refunds recent Platinum currency purchases, and confirms that no further content updates are planned.
- Quake Champions is now a $10 Steam game.
- Battle passes and microtransactions have been removed.
- Existing Steam players get it free; no more content updates are planned.
