Queen's landmark 1986 Budapest concert film is being given a full 4K restoration, overseen by Peter Jackson's team, ahead of a worldwide theatrical release on 7 October to mark its 40th anniversary. The performance, staged at Népstadion on 27 July 1986, was the first major Western stadium rock show held in a Communist country during the Cold War, making it a historically significant moment where music and geopolitics intersected in the Eastern Bloc.

The restored footage represents Queen's last captured live performance and will be issued in both cinema and home video formats, giving audiences a chance to see it in high definition for the first time. The rerelease is timed to coincide with the concert's 40th anniversary, underlining its enduring status as a landmark event in rock history.
