The Raindance Film Festival has partnered with Israeli AI creative development platform IMGN to launch a new film fund and development hub aimed at supporting independent writers and filmmakers. Announced at the 34th Raindance Film Festival in London, the initiative is designed to give emerging talent practical, low-cost production-planning support without compromising creative ownership, and reflects Raindance's attempt to combine its long-standing advocacy for independent cinema with new AI-enabled development tools.

The partnership centres on an initial £10,000 ($13,394) IMGN/Raindance Film Fund, expected to grow in future editions, and a new Raindance-IMGN Development Hub that will be formally built into the 2027 Raindance Script Competition. Selected writers will use IMGN's tools to refine scripts, create visual materials and package projects before submission, with successful applicants receiving both financial backing and creative development support. Festival founder Elliot Grove and executive director David Martínez both stressed that the aim is to use AI to assist and strengthen writers rather than replace them, keeping authorship and creative control with the filmmakers.
