Capcom has announced a virtual reality version of Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies for the series' 25th anniversary, developed by Amata Games for release on Meta Quest and Meta VR Glasses in 2027. Rather than a new mainline entry, fans will instead experience the fifth game in immersive virtual reality, allowing players to deliver the iconic "Objection!" courtroom defence in a new way. The announcement comes as the franchise prepares to celebrate its milestone anniversary on 12 October 2026.

The VR adaptation will feature players taking on the roles of Phoenix Wright, Apollo Justice and Athena Cykes whilst interacting with witnesses and evidence in the courtroom. Dual Destinies originally launched on 3DS in 2013 and was later included in the Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy released on Switch in 2024, which has sold over 5 million copies. Fan reaction in the comments has been mixed, with some lamenting that Capcom has not released a genuinely new mainline game since 2016, viewing the VR remake as an unconventional anniversary celebration.
