Reddit is developing a “video Reddit” experience that would let people watch video posts and listen to spoken versions of Reddit content in the background. The move reflects the popularity of TikTok-style videos that narrate viral Reddit stories, and could give Reddit a new format for engaging users beyond text-based discussions.

Chief executive Steve Huffman said the feature is expected to enter testing later in 2026, although Reddit has not explained how it will appear in its app. TikTok has 19.6 million posts tagged #reddit and 9.9 million tagged #redditstories, while Reddit said video comments, introduced in June, already make up more than 10% of its video posts.
