Reservoir acquires rights to ‘Feliz Navidad’ star José Feliciano’s recorded music catalog

Reservoir Media has agreed to acquire rights to José Feliciano’s recorded music catalogue, along with non-exclusive rights to use his name, image and likeness. The deal adds the music of the singer and songwriter behind “Feliz Navidad” and a celebrated cover of “Light My Fire” to Reservoir’s holdings, as the company expands its Latin music portfolio.

The financial terms and the specific recordings included were not disclosed. Feliciano’s “Light My Fire” reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1968, while “Feliz Navidad”, written and recorded in 1970, reached No. 6 in 2021 and was added to the National Recording Registry this year. Reservoir said the acquisition follows other recent catalogue deals and Latin music investments.
