Resident Evil 4 has reportedly generated a further $560 million for Capcom and become the generation’s best-selling video-game remake, according to an analyst. The claim highlights the commercial strength of Capcom’s remake strategy and the enduring appeal of the Resident Evil series.
The analyst said Resident Evil 4’s sales were more than three times those of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. The figures appear to be analyst estimates rather than confirmed sales data from the publishers, so the comparisons should be treated accordingly.
