Apple has released the iPhone 18 Pro, an iterative update that prioritises internal improvements over flashy design changes. Rather than radical redesigns, the focus is on thermal management, battery life and performance, whilst the company reserves bolder design experiments for other products like the iPhone Air and the new iPhone Duo.

The main upgrades include the new A20 Pro chip, improved thermals that keep the phone cooler during sustained use, and enhanced battery life. The only notable external change is a smaller Dynamic Island—achieved by relocating the infrared camera under the OLED panel—which now allows users to display up to three live activities simultaneously instead of one. A variable aperture camera system and new colour options, including burgundy, round out the modest improvements. The design remains largely unchanged from the iPhone 17 Pro, with the phone serving as a function-focused workhorse rather than pursuing cutting-edge aesthetics.
