Latigo Films and Inaugural Entertainment have acquired the rights to adapt "Something We Said: Richard Pryor, a Notorious Word and Me", a memoir by the comedian's daughter, Elizabeth Stordeur Pryor, into a feature film. The project explores Richard Pryor's legacy as one of comedy's most influential and provocative figures while examining the personal toll his fame and addiction took on his family, a perspective rarely explored on screen.

The memoir traces Elizabeth's evolving relationship with her father, drawing on a newly discovered trove of his handwritten notebooks containing notes and reflections behind his famous routines. Producers David Lipper, Robert A. Daly Jr., Elizabeth Pryor and Julie Merson are attached, with Daly and Stordeur Pryor sharing a longstanding personal friendship; a screenwriter and director are expected to be announced soon. Richard Pryor, an Emmy and five-time Grammy winner and the first recipient of the Kennedy Center's Mark Twain Prize, was also known for film roles in "Silver Streak", "Stir Crazy" and "Brewster's Millions".
