South Korean-born professional golfer Jessica Bang has died at the age of 18, days after suffering a brain haemorrhage while competing in a tournament in Thailand. She collapsed during the KLPGA Tour's International Qualifying Tournament on 1 August and underwent emergency brain surgery, but her family confirmed via a GoFundMe page that she passed away on 13 August in hospital. Her death has prompted tributes from the golfing community, highlighting the promise she showed early in her professional career.

Bang was placed on life support following surgery at Synphaet Ramintra Hospital in Bangkok, and died there on 13 August at 7:20am local time. The GoFundMe, set up by her cousins to help cover medical costs, described her as cheerful and vibrant, while the WPGA Tour of Australasia extended condolences to her family and friends. Bang had shown considerable talent, winning her fifth professional start last November with a final-round 65 at the Ford Women's NSW Open Regional Qualifying Event, setting a course record and winning by five strokes, having previously also won the Queensland Amateur.
