Robert Downey Jr. Officially Confirms the MCU’s New Doctor Doom Actor

Robert Downey Jr. has announced that Toshiyuki Morikawa will voice his Doctor Doom in the Japanese dub of *Avengers: Doomsday*. The casting brings a well-known Japanese voice actor to the role and recognises the history of Japanese audiences hearing different performers voice Marvel characters.

Marvel Japan released Downey’s video announcement alongside a Japanese-language trailer. Morikawa is known to game audiences as Sephiroth in *Final Fantasy 7 Remake* and *Rebirth*, and has also voiced characters in *Devil May Cry*, *JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure*, *Demon Slayer* and *One Piece*. *Avengers: Doomsday* is scheduled to open in cinemas on 18 December 2026.
