Carly Simon has revealed in a heartfelt statement to fans that she is living with Parkinson's disease and has undergone surgery to remove skin cancer from her face. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame singer-songwriter, known for hits including "You're So Vain" and "Coming Around Again," said she had kept largely silent in recent years while coming to terms with her diagnosis and deciding how much to share publicly.

In her statement, Simon described the unpredictable nature of Parkinson's, saying some days leave her too exhausted to function while others allow her more energy and clarity. She also spoke candidly about how the cancer surgery affected her appearance and self-confidence, noting the irony given she wrote "You're So Vain." Despite her health struggles, Simon confirmed she remains active creatively, with her first studio album in over 15 years, Comes in Waves, due for release on 14 August.
