Oceans Calling Festival has cancelled Friday's performances due to an approaching nor'easter expected to bring strong winds, heavy rain, and flooding to the East Coast. Festival organisers cited dangerous weather conditions and beach erosion at the venue as making it impossible to safely complete the event's setup in time, prioritising the safety of attendees, performers, and crew.

Major acts including Dave Matthews Band, Hootie and the Blowfish, and Ludacris are among the cancelled performers. Attendees who purchased one-day Friday tickets or 33 per cent of three-day passes through Front Gate Tickets will receive automatic refunds within 30 days, whilst Saturday and Sunday performances remain scheduled. This cancellation reflects a broader pattern: climate change has driven several major festival cancellations this year, including Santa Monica's Ocean Way Festival due to Hurricane Marie, Tennessee's Bonnaroo, and numerous concert postponements caused by summer wildfires affecting air quality.
