Russian Discount Retailer Fix Price Exits Mongolia
Fix Price has withdrawn fully from Mongolia, closing all three of its stores by the end of September 2026. Analysts cited the country’s small market and logistical difficulties as possible reasons, though the retailer has not publicly explained the decision.
The Russian chain entered Mongolia in January 2023 with two franchised shops in Ulaanbaatar, supplied by truck from Novosibirsk, and briefly grew to four locations in 2025. It also reduced its franchises in Kyrgyzstan and the United Arab Emirates, while expanding in Uzbekistan and Serbia. Fix Price has 8,219 stores across 10 countries; Belarus and Kazakhstan are its largest foreign markets, with 411 and 408 stores respectively.
