Such attacks form part of a wider pattern in the Russia-Ukraine war, where first-person-view drones have increasingly been used to target individuals, including civilians, far from the front line, raising concerns about tactics that blur the line between military strikes and the deliberate terrorising of non-combatants.

The footage reportedly shows the drone closing in on the Ukrainian before the intended fatal strike failed, allowing the person to escape.
